We were delighted to support the Young Horse Championships at Northcote Stud this year by sponsoring a very well attended four-year-old class, featuring a great range of talented young horses. The overall winner of the championships was the impressive Nero van de Kwade Heyde, owned by Thomas Williams and ridden by Pippa Goddard. Congratulations!
From the 42 qualified for the final championships, 19 horses went clear in the first round, and 17 achieved a double clear. The team of AES judges scored every horse on presentation, jumping technique, and rideability. The event, held in Northcote Stud's recently expanded arena was very well attended with entries from across the country. The championships keep on growing into one of the key events in the show jumping calendar for young horses, and attracted a record level of entries this year.
Joris van den Oetelaar explains:
"We are passionate about discovering new talent and support the sport, strengthening the links between the breeding and riding community. We enjoy coming to Northcote, which has a fantastic atmosphere and attracts a lot of high quality entries."
