The beautiful setting of Rockingham Castle in Northamptonshire proved to be a happy hunting ground for British breeding. 6 Year old gelding Parkfield Quintessential won the CIC 1* Section I at his first attempt at International level. No stranger to success, the twice crowned BYEH winner and Futurity Elite graduate by Quicksilber was ably partnered by Zoe Wilkinson. Lying 4th after dressage, a double clear within the time allowed secured a winning score of 41.6, just pipping John Paul Sheffield, aboard Woodlander Wesuvio to the post. The winning horse was bred and owned by Sharon Bishop of Parkfield Breeding. When quizzed about the potential of this up and coming young horse, rider Zoe Wilkinson of Oxfordshire based EZ Equestrian was enthusiastic in her praise, 'he gave me a great ride. He's a lovely, straightforward horse with lots of ability. He found it all quite easy. I'm definitely excited about what the future holds for him.' Zoe Wilkinson hopes this win moves them closer to British selection for the World Young Horse Championships at Le Lion in the Autumn.
